One of our most popular types of photography we specialize in is boudoir. We get requests and are often asked about print versions of that type of work from people. Katie and I were brainstorming on the best possible way to get our work out there in print form that is viewable for those interested. The best and most obvious choice would be a photobook. While the quality and craftsmanship are top notch, the price can get very high, which would create a price barrier that is too high for a main stream audience just to view work. We then thought calendars would be a great fit. Once we got into planning and pricing while still maintaining a good quality product, we noticed the price issue again. While the calendar was a much more affordable product, it still didn’t match our product and didn’t allow us to showcase all of our images.
Then it hit us...magazines! The price makes it easily obtainable by everyone, as well as still maintaining that high level of picture quality. As an added benefit, we were also able to create a digital version and an iBooks version that is available on the Apple store! One of the best things we love about the magazine was our opportunity to talk about the images, how we get them, tips and tons of information about boudoir. Already, we’ve had a ton of great responses and especially the physical print version. I must admit, we’ve been designing this magazine for quite sometime on the computer. Once it arrived, there was no comparison how it felt flipping through the glossed pages and having the finished product in your hands.
When we originally shot each of these sets, making a magazine was the furthest from our thoughts. With that being said, we can not be any more pleased with how these turned out as well as the positive feedback we’ve received from everyone! We thank those who have provided help in the creation of this magazine and a special thanks to all of the models who helped make this possible. Here is a few sneak peeks into the magazine and I hope everyone grabs a copy to see what all the hype is about!
